Sega Game Gear Aftermarket Screen Installation

Purchasing this listing entitles you to have an aftermarket screen installed into your Game Gear console. Please note that if your console is not working and has not been recapped, then select an option that includes a recap. Installing a new screen will not fix display issues if the console has not already had its capacitors replaced. Game Gears with heavy battery damage are not factored into the price of this service and subject to additional fees.

The screens we sell are HISPEEDIDO displays with HDMI output. See the HDMI version on HISPEEDIDO’s website for reference. We also have a video below showing the installation and features of one of the HISPEEDIDO kits (see timestamps 45:25 and 50:37 for the features).

A VA0 or VA1 mainboard is required for the HISPEEDIDO kits. If the model number shown on the back of your Game Gear reads 2110, then it is likely compatible. If it reads 2110K or 2110G, then it is most likely not a compatible model. To be sure, you would need to open your Game Gear and find the mainboard revision. Please see the Game Gear Model Differences page for more information regarding the mainboard revisions. If we cannot install a kit due to an incompatible mainboard, then we will ship your console back and refund your purchase cost, minus any return shipping fees.

Game Gears with screens replaced are warrantied for one year after you receive your console back. If you run into any problems during this period that are not caused due to neglect, e.g., drop damage, then please contact us for further assistance.
