DISCLAIMER FOR 2110K MODEL / VA4 REVISION: If the model shown on the backside of your case reads 2110K, then this is a VA4 mainboard revision (assuming the mainboard has not been swapped). This particular revision is known for having a defective screen, and we have yet to come across one that works properly after being recapped. We strongly advise against this service if you have a VA4 Game Gear. Additionally, we do not offer any trade-ins or donations/refunds for this model. Purchasing this service entitles you to have a full recap on a Sega Game Gear console (main, audio, and power boards) and to address any broken traces/vias caused by capacitor leakage. The majority of Game Gears have defective capacitors that need to be replaced to resolve the following problems:

• No/dim video

• No/low audio

• Console immediately powering off

Please note that Game Gears with excessive battery corrosion are not covered in the price of this service. If your Game Gear falls into this category, or if you are not sure, then please contact us so that we can discuss your options. If we receive a Game Gear with heavy battery damage, then your Game Gear will be shipped back to you with no services performed, refunding the cost of this service minus any return shipping fees.

In many cases performing this service will get your Game Gear up and running again. However, it is possible that other issues will present themselves after the console has been recapped, e.g., defective LCD, defective chips, etc. Excluding the VA4 revision, if additional issues are found that make repairing your Game Gear unfeasible, then we can offer to put the cost of the recap towards buying a working Game Gear if we have any available, or you can donate the Game Gear to us for parts and we will issue you a refund for the service. If you would like the Game Gear shipped back after it has been recapped despite its issues, then no refund will be issued for the capacitor replacement service. For the VA4 revision, we only offer the option of shipping the console back after the recap service despite any issues it may have.

Consoles are worked on in the order received. At this time you can expect to have your Game Gear recapped and shipped back within two (2) business days of us receiving it.
